Science has been my passion for as long as I can remember. The start of my obsession with space flight began after watching Challenger as a kid on the “big” TV at school. My family helped fan this fire by taking me to air shows and live rocket launches. It was solidified when I walked out of the movie theater and looked up at the full moon after watching Apollo 13 “thinking I want to go there”. So I tried three times to be an astronaut.
Unfortunately, they didn’t take me so I did the next best thing. I have spent the last 25 years teaching students and teachers as much as I can about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
With every engineering design challenge and professional development, I hope to continue to inspire my students and other educators to think outside of the box and use the foundation I have given them to propel not only themselves but future generations of aerospace scientists, engineers, and explorers to the moon, Mars, and beyond.
